Objectives
This programme aims to provide the Life Sciences sector with a course in health, safety and environmental awareness, which will be available to employees and potential entrants to the sector. The course provides the opportunity to equip trainees with the knowledge, skill and competencies to perform a range of manufacturing tasks in compliance with current health, safety and environmental regulations and controls.Content includes
To understand the related regulatory framework and licencing procedures as they apply to the life sciences sector- To gain knowledge of the key elements of health and safety and environmental and waste management systems, related documentation and record keeping
- To gain an awareness of the impact of work practices on the environment
- To acquire skills and competencies necessary to manage/respond appropriately to a range of environment threatening situations
- To develop the academic and vocational language, literacy and/or numeracy skills related to health, safety and environmental awareness
